Clock in and out

Set GPS locations for each site and instruct staff to clock in on the mobile app.

Staff use the mobile app to view their shifts and clock in and out. There are two ways that the app can clock in and out.

  1. GPS location which means that staff need to be close to the venue in order to clock in and out
  1. QR code which means that staff need to scan a daily QR code which is recreated every morning

We recommend using GPS as your primary method and using the QR code only if GPS is unreliable in your area or if there are staff members without a smart phone. We have explained how to set up and use both methods below.

💡 You don’t have to ask staff to clock in and out but you’ll miss out on two useful things. Firstly, you won’t be able to accurately know when staff have arrived and left and secondly you won’t be able to make use of Pilla’s ‘Clock-in Hot Streak’ feature which motivates staff to arrive on time

❔ How can I use the QR code to clock in and out? - Every day a new QR code is created on the management dashboard which staff can scan on the app to clock in and out. If you want to use it, we advise leaving a laptop/tablet open somewhere in your office with the QR code open so staff can come in and scan it.
